Cards are a great way to help your loved one feel celebrated on special holidays and their birthday.
Postcards are one of the cheapest things to send to inmates to let them know you’re thinking of them.
History of Bexar County Adult Detention Center
Bexar County Adult Detention Center is an 80,000 square foot correctional facility housing more than 4,000 inmates are accommodated on any given day. It is a secure facility that can house inmates awaiting trial or awaiting sentencing after being convicted of their crimes. Some individuals held at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center in Texas are already serving time after being convicted of their crimes.
Step 3/6: Get Stamps
If you are submitting more than 5 photos, you will need Extra Ounces stamps. Most people don’t have these available at home. You should make a trip to your local post office to pick something up. You can also order stamps online. Technically, instead of an additional 1 ounce stamp ($0.24), you can use a second $0.60 stamp, but that extra cost adds up!
In the United States, the maximum weight for premium envelopes is 3.5 ounces. The first seal covers the first ounce. You can then purchase “extra ounce” stamps for each ounce tier.
Talk to your loved one
Your incarcerated loved one is a great resource for finding information about your facility. Ask them directly: How many photos can you send to someone in prison? Are there any rules or regulations I need to follow?
If your inmate has had the same photos for a while and is ready for an update, he may not tell you in advance. The next time you speak to your inmate, ask them if they want new photos. If they’ve reached their photo limit, they might be ready for newer family gathering and holiday pictures and ready to look at some. Especially if a family member has experienced life-changing events, such as B. getting his degree, buying his first car, meeting Santa for the first time, or getting married. Photos from these events will be a welcome addition to your loved ones. We recommend sharing as much as possible!
What are the rules for federal inmates when it comes to receiving pictures in the mail?
You may send personal photos to an inmate being held in a federal prison, but they cannot contain sexually explicit material or nudity. In accordance with official BOP policy, nudity or sexually suggestive photographs are of particular concern to an inmate’s personal safety, security and order.
This is especially true when the person in the photographs is a relative or friend of an inmate, so they are very strict with the photos.
