Get your loved one out of jail quickly with these steps:
How to post bail
If your friend or loved one is charged with a relatively non-violent crime, B. DWI or burglary, the bond amount is usually between $4,000 and $5,000. If they don’t have a criminal record, chances are they’re dating with something of a personal bond. Personal bail means no money has to be paid, but if the person doesn’t show up in court, the county will sue them for the bail amount. To increase the chances of your loved one receiving a personal bond, you can call the Travis County Pretrial Services Office and serve as a referral for them. When you call them, tell them the name and date of birth of your loved one. You must also provide the address of the detainee. You will also be looked after by the preliminary examination if you have drug or alcohol problems. Eventually, your loved one will be released. It takes a maximum of 24 hours for someone to be jailed for a misdemeanor and released on bail.
Once the magistrate has determined this guarantor, the other option is that you can hire a guarantor. Take a $5,000 bond, for example. When you hire a deposit manager, you typically pay the deposit manager 10%, which equates to about $500 in deposit. You don’t get any of that money back, and then the bail bondsman acts as security to make sure the person shows up in court. The $500 bail is for the bail bondsman and your fee for the prison release process.
What are examples of violent crime?
Most violent crimes involve the use of violence or some form of violence. However, an arrest requiring posting of bail for violent crimes may be a “threat” of violence, such as B. Personal injury. It can all depend on the surrounding facts and arrest situation, but it doesn’t have to be physical actions. Examples of violent crimes are:
- A simple assault is a misdemeanor, but it can be upgraded to a battery charge, meaning there was physical contact between the accused and the victim, resulting in a criminal offense a felony charge of arrest may be announced on bail for violent crimes.
- Rape or any sexual assault is classified as a violent crime, bail is set by the judge based on several factors.
- A sex offense against a child is a violent crime, bail may not be an option determined by the judge.
- Robbery under threat of a weapon is a violent crime, bail is set based on the suspect’s criminal record and other factors. If the judge grants bail for violent crimes, the amount depends on the type of weapon used during the robbery.
- Theft of a car using a gun is a violent crime, bail can be based on a crime involving theft of a car.
- Manslaughter is the most serious type of violent crime, bail can often be denied due to various circumstances and factors.
Effects on occupants?
TCSO said the county jail currently meets all requirements of the Texas Board of Prison Standards.
“The Texas Prison Standards Commission sets minimum requirements for how long inmates must be out of their cells. If we work with normal staff, we exceed this time span by far. But if we’re understaffed in a unit, for example, those inmates may have to stay in their cells longer than normal, but they’ll still fall under the Texas Prison Standards Commission’s mandates,” Dark said, denying a report received by KXAN that Prisons operated in a “lockdown” mode.
