Do I have to get a PR bond?
There are many benefits of earning a PR bonus. The first is that you are not incarcerated for the duration of your trial, so you can be at home with friends and family and not in prison. The second big advantage is that you can avoid a deposit. However, this does not mean that it is completely free and you may have to pay additional undisclosed costs, e.g. For example, visiting a probation officer for a fee or enrolling in a class. Because PR bonds are awarded solely by a judge, you may have to wait an indefinite amount of time before the judge is ready to see you, so you have no guarantee of exactly when you’ll fail if you choose a PR bond .
Only send new books and magazines
Prisons only accept new books in like-new condition. A delivery note must be enclosed with the package, on which all the books contained are clearly listed, identified as new and their individual prices are listed.
Many prisons also have a size limit, if you decide to mail larger books then seek advice from the Post Office at Travis County Correctional Complex first.
